Sadohana is the official Curucuruland BJJ Representative in Vancouver and is run by Professor Michael Seamark. Sadohana with over 25 years in operation owned and operated by the husband and wife team of Michael and Diane Seamark students have come to us and stay with us because they can learn Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in a safe and fun atmosphere. We promote the active Jiu-Jitsu Lifestyle and practice with longevity in mind. Your safety is more important any other aspect. Sadohana is one of the longest and most successful Jiu-Jitsu schools in British Columbia with our our first students starting with us in 1994 back when we were just a study group. In 1997 we official open the doors bringing Ju-Jitsu, Yoga and Shiatsu to our extended family and we have been a key player in this beautiful community ever since.
Michael was promoted up to blackbelt by Six blades Professor Saulo Ribeiro and then to blackbelt by Professor Rodrigo Pagani and Professor Dean Toews in 2022. Michael's wife is a blue belt in BJJ and his Son Kali is a 3 stripe Blue belt. Together they run a family oriented program that welcomes people of all walks of life. Our program focuses on movement therapy or therapeutic exercise and each class will dedicate time and focus to the following elements:

In our beautifully maintained Academy you will be expertly guided through the practice of self-defense technique strategy (Survive - Escape - Control) and (Flow - Pressure - Finish) To do this you will focus on all aspects of the art of gentleness including; breath work, falling safety, floor movements and drills, combat mobility, ground defense, takedown, body awareness, joint lock awareness, takedowns, pins, escapes and reversals.
