taikai2011_smlSadohana Dojo is pleased to announce that we will be hosting Soke Irie Yasuhiro and at the KoKoDo JuJutsu 2011 Vancouver Taikai on June 24th and 27th, 2011.

Many of you may have seen Vancouver in the media recently as we hosted the 2010 Olympic Winter Games. Vancouver has much to offer in the way of sightseeing, shopping, and restaurants. Our Taikai will be located in Coast Plaza Hotel right downtown at English Bay, Vancouver, close to the mountains, beach and ocean, and sights such as Stanley Park.

Our event will have plenty of Taikai training, Renshi training for Shihan and Kaiden Shihan, social events, shopping and sightseeing. Please be sure to mark the dates down on your calendar and visit us. All KoKoDo students and dojo are welcome.

Our preliminary schedule is as follows:

June 23 2011: Soke and international guests will arrive in Vancouver via Vancouver International Airport and travel to our assigned KoKoDo Taikai hotel.

June 24 2011: Soke and guests will have a small welcome social. Soke will also provide Renshi Kai for those Shihan and Kaiden Shihan who wish to have a review with Soke Irie. This is great opportunity Space will be limited and pre-registration is required.

June 25 2011: During the day, Soke Irie will hold Jikiden Kai (KoKoDo JuJutsu Training directly with Soke irie). Guests who are visiting us but not training, will be offered a small sightseeing tour around our city. The evening will be free to gather and socialize either at the hotel or around the many beautiful restaurants and bars surrounding the Taikai Hotel.

June 26 2011: During the day, Soke will hold second full day of Jikiden Kai at the Taikai. Later that evening we will hold the KoKoDo JuJutsu Dinner and Banquet.

June 27 2011: This day will be for touring around the Vancouver area for sightseeing and shopping. Vancouver is famous for its great scenery and quality shopping.

June 28 2011: Soke departs from Vancouver and travels back to Japan. This is when we will say our formal goodbyes to our international guests. However if you wish to come early or stay later we can help you plan your stay and remain good hosts.

If you are interested in attending, please fill out the Taikai poll on our web site. It will allow us to gauge how many students will be attending and from what areas around the world.

Please visit our new website often as we will post new information regarding Taikai as we plan it. Registrations will begin shortly through our website. Hotel and Taikai location information will be announced within a few weeks.  

All registrations should be in by Feb 15th 2011.
