日本伝承武道 皇光道柔術

Nihon Densho Budo KoKoDo JuJutsu specializes in wrist and joint locks, throws and takedowns, holds and pins buy utilizing bone structure, natural movement and painful pressure points. The origin of this art dates back to feudal Japan, where the techniques were studied by the Samurai.

KoKoDo JuJutsu Budoka are taught to abandon brute force, relax the muscles, use Aiki and apply techniques to neutralize opponents in self-defence. KoKoDo students neutralize the force of powerful opponents through protection and kuzushi (off-balancing) techniques. Vital point strikes on Keiraku (meridians) are used to achieve kuzushi and to instantly freeze, stop, pin, and control the movement of the opponent. In a Judo match, a physically smaller person experiences great difficulty in winning a match if he encounters an opponent of much larger size. KoKoDo has no problem with such physical differences. In KoKoDo JuJutsu, economic, natural, gentle, swift, and efficient maneuvers reign supreme over hardness, strength and body size.

The KoKoDo JuJutsu curriculum includes a series of basic techniques (waza), similar to the Daito Ryu Aiki JuJutsu. These are ideal teaching and ideal learning lessons. The artist learns to use natural movements that utilize relaxation, aiki and proper angles to neutralize the power of the attacker or aggressor. The lessons are deeply imbedded movements. Understanding waza is a never-ending process of refinement: for this reason it is hard to imagine that kihon waza has a finished form

The KoKoDo curriculum is organized into different levels of training. The first four are black belt levels, including Shodan, Nidan, Sandan, and Yondan (first degree, second degree, third degree and fourth degree).  Some whom Soke will select will go on to learn Shihan and Kaiden. These teaching must be learned from Soke himself. Students that are promoted to Shihan and above will wear a murasaki obi (purple belt).
